Collection: Pomegranates

🥣🧡🖐🏡 I created my sweet pomegranate jars on the potter's wheel, from stoneware. After taking them from the kiln, I glaze and fire them to a higher temperature.

The word pomegranate is “rimon” in Hebrew. This remarkable fruit is rich in symbolism and there are specific references to the pomegranate in the Bible. King Solomon is said to have designed his crown based on the “crown” of the pomegranate. On Rosh Hashana, it is traditional to eat pomegranates because the pomegranate, with its numerous seeds, symbolizes fruitfulness. “May it be Your will, Lord our God and God of our forebears, that our merits increase like the seeds of a pomegranate.”

In the Jewish tradition the pomegranate symbols abundance, prosperity and blessing, fertility and beauty. Grown in the Mediterranean region for several thousand years, the pomegranate is rich in symbolism and there are specific references to the pomegranate in the Bible. Because the pomegranate is so rich in history and symbolism, pomegranate gifts are appropriate for many occasions.

Ship worldwide from California, USA. Since all my items are glazed at high fire temperatures, the colors will remain vibrant for the life of the piece.
