This beautiful one-of-a-kind Hamsa was formed using high-fire white stoneware clay in hand-built method, then textured and fired to a bisque. I then glazed it with various under-glaze, covering it with clear glaze, fired it for the second time and high fired again to 2145 F in my kiln at my studio. I finished it with Purple and blue beads on a natural hemp cord for hanging.
My initials and the item number are carved on the back of the hamsa.
It makes a beautiful housewarming gift, holiday gift, Wedding or a gift for friends and family for any occasion. It comes in a nice gift box with my card.

Hamsa meaning: The hamsa hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet that protects against the “evil eye.” It is a protective sign and brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.
Five (hamesh in Hebrew) represents the five books of the Torah for Jews. In the Jewish religion, the Jewish hamsa hand also symbolizes the Hand of Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron. The symbol of the hand appears in manuscripts of the Kabbalah. Although the hamsa hand has been symbolic in Islam and Judaism for centuries, archaeological digs provide evidence that the hamsa predates these religions and originated with the Phoenicians.

Purple for connection to spirituality, and green for health.
Since all my items are glazed at high fire temperatures, the colors will remain vibrant for the life of the piece.
