Like and follow www.facebook.com/kerenorhandmade kerenorhandmade on Instagram I formed this beautiful one-of-a-kind hamsa in the hand-build method from high-fire porcelain, then textured it with various objects and stamps in my studio and fired to bisque. After taking it out of the kiln I glazed it with lead free Turquoise and brown glaze and high fired it for the second time to a higher temperature in my kiln at my studio. I finished by adding an acrylic orange flower at the top and 2 burnished gold butterflies and ceramic and glass beads on a natural hemp cord. My initials and the item number are carved on the back of the Hamsa. It makes a beautiful housewarming gift, holiday gift, or a gift for friends and family for any occasion. It comes in a nice gift box with my card. This sale is for the ceramic hamsa shown above: Hamsa, Ceramic Hamsa, Hamsa Hand, butterflies, Wall Decor, evil eye, protection, Hamsas, amulet, Wall Hanging, housewarming, Luck (Item #3037). Thank you for visiting my shop, I hope you find something special for you or a loved one! Color: Turquoise, brown, Orange, Burnished gold butterflies . Materials: White earthenware clay, Pendant, Glaze, beads, Hemp cord. Measures: 5” - Length 4.25” - Width Ships worldwide from California, USA Hamsa meaning: The hamsa hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet that protects against the “evil eye.” It is a protective sign and brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. Five (hamesh in Hebrew) represents the five books of the Torah for Jews. In the Jewish religion, the Jewish hamsa hand also symbolizes the Hand of Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron. The symbol of the hand appears in manuscripts of the Kabbalah. Although the hamsa hand has been symbolic in Islam and Judaism for centuries, archaeological digs provide evidence that the hamsa predates these religions and originated with the Phoenicians. Since all my items are glazed at high fire temperatures, the colors will remain vibrant for the life of the piece. https://www.etsy.com/shop/KerenOrHandmade
