🏡🤲💗 🕎I formed this beautiful one-of-a-kind Jewish house blessing hamsa from porcelain, done in the hand-built method. I then stamped it with various Jewish/Mediterranean/Middle eastern symbols and words, glazed it with lead-free under-glaze and stains, and high fired it in my kiln at my studio, leaving it with a creamy yellowish background. After firing it a first time, I glazed it with clear glaze and fired it again to a higher temperature. I finished assembling it with ceramic beads on a hemp cord for hanging.
This is a perfect housewarming gift, warming a home with a beautiful blessing.
This hamsa hand is rich in symbolism: the protection of the hamsas and the abundance of the pomegranate. You will warm the heart of anyone you give this too, or keep it for yourself to help bless your entryway or home.

Hamsa meaning: The hamsa hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet that protects against the “evil eye.” It is a protective sign and brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.
Five (hamesh in Hebrew) represents the five books of the Torah for Jews. In the Jewish religion, the Jewish hamsa hand also symbolizes the Hand of Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron. The symbol of the hand appears in manuscripts of the Kabbalah. Although the hamsa hand has been symbolic in Islam and Judaism for centuries, archaeological digs provide evidence that the hamsa predates these religions and originated with the Phoenicians.
* The colors blue and red are symbols for protection against the evil eye , turquoise to ward off negative energies,
Purple for connection to spirituality, and green for health.
Red pomegranate - a symbol for fertility, abundance and prosperity , and the spirals - a symbol for life.
Since all my items are glazed at high fire temperatures, the colors will remain vibrant for the life of the piece.
